Related experience can include; production line mechanic, line electrician, packaging machinery engineer, and general field technician responsible for product installation, support and repairs. - Must have knowledge of electronic engineering experience; working with circuitry and troubleshooting electrical components to the board level, drilling / mounting in various materials. Clear communication and professional presentation skills are essential.    Travel Requirements:   This position requires frequent and extended travel. All candidates must be prepared, ready and available to travel 3 weeks per month. Weekend over-stays may be required when installations exceed 5 business days. All Field Technicians must be able to travel freely between the US and Canada by commercial airline. Required Training Period: 4-6 weeks of paid hands-on training in Quebec City, QC. Canada. New hires are then required to complete 6-8 weeks of shadowing assignments for on-the job training.   All new hires are required to pass progressive technical tests and skill based functional tests throughout the entire training period. All applicants must pass a Technical Skills Test, prior to advancing to the Skype based technical interview. Machine Assembler/Field Service Technician   - The technican will begin in assembly in order to learn and gain hands-on knowledge of company equipment.   Fully assemble and test-run machines, parts assemblies and related equipment.   Disassemble, prepare and crate parts and equipment for shipment to customers per company packaging standards.   Design, weld, machine, and fabricate parts as necessary. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Installs, services or repairs mechanical and electronic equipment at the customer's site, our manufacturing sites, or sales and service offices.   - Utilizes hand tools and test equipment to perform work. - Requires knowledge of equipment specifications. - Discusses with engineering problems relating to maintenance or operation of equipment. - Field train customers. - Performs in house phone troubleshooting support to customers. - Supports sales for product demonstrations. - Provides a range of known solutions to problems. - Innovates on the fly to resolve new and unique problems.  - May be asked to cover after hours phone troubleshooting. - Will be asked to travel extensively, around the world. - Build and maintain customer relationships. - Performs other duties as assigned by manager.   QUALIFICATIONS: - Require minimal direct supervision. - Organizational skills. - Microsoft Outlook and Excel knowledge. - Expert knowledge of supplied machinery. - Ability to accurately and effectively communicate problems and suggest possible solutions. - Will require travel up to 100% of the time. Normally one week out, sometimes up to two weeks out.
