Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced quality, engineering, or manufacturing professional to join our team as a Nuclear Quality Management Systems ISO 19443.
Auditor. In this role, you will perform rigorous compliance and safety audits of organizations supplying products and services to highly regulated, high-consequence industries.
The successful candidate will be fully trained and qualified under our corporate program to lead audits for specialized, safety-critical international standards. The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical industry experience, robust quality management knowledge, structural auditing capability, and strong customer-facing communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities
- Audit Leadership: Lead and conduct management system audits in support of corporate certification, surveillance, recertification, transfer, and special audit activities.
- Planning & Coordination: Plan complex audits, develop strategic audit agendas, and coordinate timelines with clients and multi-disciplinary audit team members.
- Conformity Evaluation: Evaluate quality management systems for conformity, operational effectiveness, and strict implementation of applicable international standards.
- Core Process Assessment: Assess high-level management system processes including executive leadership, risk management, organizational safety culture, supplier controls, high-consequence procurement, design control, and corrective action programs (CAPA).
- Evidence Gathering: Gather and evaluate objective technical evidence through personnel interviews, deep document reviews, and direct observation of site activities.
- Reporting & Compliance: Prepare technical audit reports and document granular audit findings in accordance with strict accreditation requirements.
- Client Interface: Present audit conclusions, risks, and findings clearly to client executive management during formal opening and closing meetings.
- Corrective Action Review: Review, challenge, and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions associated with previous audit findings to make official certification recommendations.
- Professional Development: Maintain industry auditor qualifications and technical competency through continuous training, witness audits, and ongoing professional development.
Required Education & Experience
- Education: High School diploma required; Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in a technical discipline (Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Quality Management) or completion of a rigorous military technical program (e.g., US Naval Nuclear Power School) is highly preferred.
- General Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Mechanical Engineering, Technical Design, Plant Operations, Site Construction, Advanced Manufacturing, Fabrication, NDE, Inspection, or Quality Assurance.
- Sector-Specific Experience: Minimum of 2 years of specialized experience within high-consequence, safety-critical industries, including direct experience with Quality Management and auditing Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Core Skills: Working knowledge of international ISO quality standards, excellent technical writing abilities, and demonstrated autonomy to prioritize and schedule tasks with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Dual experience or certifications in ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and/or ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety).
- Specific experience auditing high-pressure equipment, specialized materials, testing, or advanced engineering services.
- Prior exposure to sales, account management, or business development environments.
