What You’ll Do
As a Controls Technician, you will perform advanced service, troubleshooting, commissioning, and upgrades on commercial building automation systems (BAS).
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair complex electronic, digital, and networked control systems
- Perform preventive maintenance, system commissioning, and software/graphics updates
- Provide on‑site customer support, ensuring high satisfaction and clear communication
- Assist with job layouts, field sketches, documentation, and as‑built updates
- Support sales teams with technical insights and field‑based recommendations
- Train customers on system operation and provide ongoing technical guidance
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Participate in continuous learning to stay current with BAS technologies
Qualifications
- Troubleshooting experience (electro-mechanical systems, HVAC experience highly desirable but will consider applicants with other related technical experience)
- Technical degree, vocational program completion, military, or equivalent practical experience
- Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, sequences of operation, and technical documentation
- Effective communication skills with both technical and non‑technical customers
- Strong customer‑service mindset and professional field presence
- Military training and practical experience highly desired but not required
