Senior Generator Technician – Now Hiring


Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Generator Technician to lead advanced maintenance, diagnostics, and repair operations on a wide range of commercial and industrial generator systems. This includes hands-on work with units up to 2 megawatts and complex paralleling systems up to 12 megawatts, both in the field and in-shop. The ideal candidate demonstrates outstanding technical expertise, strong customer service skills, and precise documentation abilities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and complex repairs on standby generators.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues involving diesel/natural gas generators, ATS units, controllers, switchgear, bypass systems, batteries, and load-bank testing.
  • Identify and resolve root causes of system failures in high-capacity generator environments.
  • Conduct startup and commissioning services.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle inventory and ensure proper tool and equipment readiness.
  • Deliver exceptional service to clients 
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience servicing all brands of commercial and industrial generators
  • Advanced knowledge of generator systems, paralleling switchgear, ATS units, controllers, and related electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Proficient with generator and transfer switch controls; familiarity with relevant software applications.
  • Willingness to work overtime
  • Valid state driver’s license and excellent driving record.
  • Outstanding communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Self-directed with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • EGSA certification 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, humidity, wind).
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Able to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, climb, and reach overhead.
  • Full visual acuity (with or without correction); color vision and fine detail recognition are essential.
