Immediate Hiring Need for a CAD Designer/Mechanical Engineer

Full Time Position with Generous Benefits Package

$75-100K

 

We are looking for an experienced CAD Designer/Mechanical Engineer to join our growing automation company in Alexandria, MN.  We are looking for a candidate who is proficient in CAD, can read blueprints, and mechanical drawings, and has strong communication skills.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supports customer expectations and project deadlines by performing general parts detailing 
  • Constructs complete detail prints from assembly drawings 
  • Details parts to make fabrication as efficient as possible
  • Designs simple mechanisms/parts.
  • Completes mechanical purchase parts lists.
  • Communicates with peers, team leader, supervisors, project leads, management and customers to provide upgrade/update information, project status, technical support and product/process improvements.
  • Assists in other areas and performs additional tasks as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with CAD Design
  • Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Organizational skills
  • General understanding of mechanical linkages and components (i.e.,

Bearings, sprockets, pulleys, air cylinders)

  • Knowledge of the metric system, fabrication process, raw materials,

plating, electrical and mechanical assembly preferred

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continued improvement processes
  • preferred

 

Not Required but Our Ideal Candidate Would Have:

  • BSME or Associates in Engineering Field
  • Experience working with automation equipment
  • Understanding of Lean Principles
