Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Physics Department, which is responsible for conducting research into radiation shielding materials, developing shielding designs complete with physics calculations, and devising innovative methods to provide clients with value-added shielding solutions. The position is the primary company contact on all shielding physics issues and will collaborate with physicists, radiation oncologists, consultants, engineers, architects and project management on a regular basis. Focus is on external beam medical radiation therapy producing photons, neutrons, and other positive ions. Other areas of company involvement are industrial inspection, nuclear research laboratories and fusion energy research. Degree in Physics, or related science or mathematics, with an understanding of radiation shielding  calculations; Physics Board Certification a plus.



Develop radiation shielding calculations and designs, and provide advice on radiation protection; design shielding thicknesses and composition for a variety of machines and room designs.

Provide appropriate physics data and input for the development of Sales proposals; work closely with clients, the sales team, architects and project managers to determine proper shielding requirements for each project.

Follow-up with sales managers and client contacts for missing/unclear information.

Communicate with key client personnel and/or the client physicist on the benefits, value and functionality of Veritas product

Write physics reports for the project showing parameter details and all related physics calculations and recommendations

Job site visits as necessary to conduct radiation surveys.

Lead internal Physics training sessions on a quarterly basis to educate and train team members.

Present company solution at physics conferences, etc. as required
