Develop and administer an effective internal and external supply chain for the procurement of all goods and services in the most cost effective and timely manner, ensuring quality and delivery consistent with company standards.
Manage and coordinate the activities of staff including training, employee development, performance evaluation, hiring decisions, and the establishment of goals and performance objectives for assigned department
Provide continual evaluation of department processes, methods, and activities to assure the most effective use of resources and equipment.
Manage budget and expenditures.
Maintain a reliable and competitive approved supplier network to support the strategy for all critical components and commodities at the best practical cost and within the guidelines of price, service, quality and delivery.
Strategically rationalize and manage the supplier base; develop key supplier alliances; implement, monitor and maintain effective procurement programs; expand or consolidate the supplier base as needed.
Develop, recommend and implement system improvements to increase process efficiencies.
Actively reduce non-value added time within company as well as within the process of our suppliers; drive lead-times down where possible.
Develop procurement strategic plans for those commodities that are assigned as primary responsibilities
Initiate purchasing guidelines and policies to ensure compliance with company ISO certification.
Oversee inventory accuracy and documentation.
Maintain dynamic of product mix through analysis and forecast.
Perform other work related tasks as assigned.
Comply with all company and HSE policies and procedures.
6-10 years materials management experience is required
Strong understanding of MRP/ERP principles and warehouse operations - APICS certification or equivalent prefered.
