Overview

Summary
Under the general direction of and reporting to the Director, Field Installation, the Project Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities of designated projects to ensure that project goals are accomplished on schedule and within budget.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 

  1. Reviews project specifications to determine schedule, procurement sources, and staffing needs.
  2. Creates and executes project work plan and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  3. Prepares submittals for customer approval.
  4. Works with finance, legal, and sales staff on payment terms, contracts, and project requirements.
  5. Directs and coordinates all project activities to ensure that project progresses on schedule and within budget.
  6. Prepares project reports for customers, management, and others and modifies schedules and plans as needed.
  7. Creates and executes project work plan and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  8. Communicates with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and sales staff regarding deliverable expectations and technical considerations.
  9. Proactively resolves problems with customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  10. Coordinates project activities with the activities of government agencies.
  11. Attends meetings at construction sites and design offices as required.
  12. Assist on site walks and provides technical support in costing the project.
  13. Once the job is awarded, track materials, contractor schedules, progress of the job, and standards compliance.
  14. Communicates with sales staff, subcontractors, and customers on a weekly basis, or as required, to turn in digital photos and progress reports to our customers on a weekly and monthly basis.
  15. Monitors site safety and corrects any safety violations or other reported deficiencies.
  16. Minimizes exposure and risk on project.
  17. Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
  18. Complete all close out documents in a timely manner to comply with customer generated and managed performance scorecard.
  19. Travel is required.

 
Education/Experience/Skills                                                           

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in engineering, construction management, or other technical subject and four years’ experience in project management or technical customer service in the electrical equipment industry; or eight or more years related experience and/or training in project management or technical customer service in the Cable/Telecom AC/DC electrical equipment industry. ( DC Plants, Inverter systems and UPS systems )
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with -48VDC and +24VDC systems and installation procedures.
  • Experience or knowledge with Cable/Telecom industry installation standards.
  • Possible seasoned Level-4 installer looking to advance career. 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification preferred.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational, computer, and communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn the emergency power industry.
  • Access to high speed internet.
