Overview

Responsible for executing assigned robotic/automation jobs, including onsite installation, troubleshooting, and repair and follow up on service escalations.  Seeks sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction.  Keeps accurate records of service calls, maintains inventory of service parts, tools, and test equipment.  Services are provided in-house, on-site, and/or via telephone. Travels 70% - 80% to customer sites and other locations in the US, Canada, and internationally.  Provides on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring to other service team members.  Follows safety practices as defined by the Company and/or customers’ site safety code.

Qualifications

Profile
 
  • Bachelor degree (BSEE/BSC/BSME) from an accredited four-year college or university plus 5 years of related technical/engineering experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites on short notice and for varying length of time to respond to customer emergencies.
  • Frequently requires the ability to work long hours to meet customer needs.
  • Ability to read electrical and controls prints typical in factory automation systems.
  • Familiarity with KUKA robots, DeviceNet, Daimler Integra Standard, and Siemens ProfiNet and ProfiSafe is a plus.
  • Ability to work split shifts, weekend and holiday work is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written, required.
  • Customer Service fundamentals - the ability to effectively deal with customer complaints.
  • German language skills a plus.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with PC based systems and information technologies.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid Passport
